- US has discreetly given China a list of asks
- W/O pressure China won't change state-owned firms
- Will ask China to lower tariff rates to match US
- Tough part in talks is ensuring China keeps promises
- Trump wants to see free trade deal with Japan
- He's optimistic on tentative NAFTA deal before June
The trade issues with China is not going to be going to be solved by sending a delegation to China but at least relationships will hopefully be built.
PS the US stocks are back near unchanged levels. The S&P is down -1.5 points or -0.06%. The Nasdaq is down -1.8 points or -0.02%. The Dow is positive now (up 36 points or 0.13%).
