The Brexit minister is up on the soap box
Will not seek to take a divide and rule approach to negotiations
Meanwhile, the election wagon is gathering pace with the main opposition party (Labour) yesterday pledging to guarantee the legal status of EU nationals living in the UK. A definite vote winner among the 3 million EU nationals who are ineligible to vote ;-) They will also "press" for a reciprocal guarantee from Europe for 1.2m UK nationals abroad. Nice of them to put our own folks first in that list eh? #sarcasm
The reason I'm telling you all this is not to get all political but to show you what rubbish will be coming out from all parties during the campaigning. There is no way in a million years that EU or UK nationals will be rounded up and booted out of any country en masse. This is yet more scaremongering tactics to win votes, the same as the rubbish peddled about immigration and where our EU payments could be spent during the Brexit campaigning.
Can we trade this? Probably not pledge by pledge but the more ridiculous or desperate the promises are, the less likely they are to get voted for, which will affect the outcome, and therefore the pound.
