USD/CNH picked up a bid after the comments
His remarks were aired by the Chinese state media and it has caused quite a stir in the offshore Chinese yuan. USD/CNH is closing in on 6.95 now and we're but a hiccup away from touching the 7.00 threshold. At this stage, does the 7.00 level really matter?
