Nasdaq is the weakest.
Apple is getting hit on the back of reports that Apple is cutting production of iPhones. That has the Nasdaq opening lower. The other indices are also lower.
The snapshot now shows:
- S&P down -7 points or -0.24%
- Nasdaq is down -27 points or -0.37%
- Dow is down -67 points or -0.25%
In the US debt market, yields remain higher by about 1.5 to 2.0 basis points.
In other markets:
- Bitcoin is below $5100 level now, and trades at the lowest level since October 12, 2017. The corrective high off last week's lows was able to get above the 100 hour MA (blue line) but stalled ahead of the 38.2% retracement level.
- Spot gold is near unchanged at $1221.40
- WTI crude oil is down -$0.76 or -1.35% at $55.70. The low reached $55.50
The CHF is the strongest and getting stronger. The NZD is still the weakest (from NY open) and getting weaker.
The USD is higher vs. the commodity currencies (CAD, AUD and NZD) and lower or unchanged vs the CHF, EUR, GBP and JPY.
