Dow down for the 5th straight day
The US major stock indices are opening in the red. Both the S&P and NASDAQ, if they close lower today, would have fallen 4 of the last 5 trading days. The Dow industrial average is working on its 5th straight down day.
The snapshot of the major indices currently shows:
- The S&P index is down -8 point sore -0.30% 2683.33
- The NASDAQ composite index is down 27.2 points or -0.3% at 7230.65
- The Dow industrial average is down to -86 points or my 0.35% at 24452
In the US debt market yields remain lower:
- 2-year 2.217%, -2.4 basis points
- 5 year 2.599%, -2.8 basis points
- 10 year 2.837%, -2.7 basis points
- 30 year 3.121%, -1.9 basis points
The Markit services final PMI is out at 9:45 AM ET, 1445 GMT. The expectations are 55.9 versus 55.9 preliminary.
At 10 AM the ISM nonmanufacturing composite index for February is expected to get to 59.0 from 59.9 in January.
