Nasdaq leads the charge higher in the US
The US stocks ended the day with healthy gains on the day. The Nasdaq composite index rose by 1.17%. The S&P index gained 0.92% while the small cap Russell index gained 1.04%.
The Eurorpean stocks were also higher on the day with the German Dax index leading the gainers for the day with a rise of 1.74%.
China cut the reserve requirement by 1% freeing up 200 billion for banks to lend. This was the largest decline since 2008. Earnings today were generally upbeat. Some 25% of companies will report this week. IBM beat estimates after the close and is trading sharply higher in after-hours trading.
