Nasdaq the leader
The US major stock indices are opening higher and on the moves the Nasdaq and the S&P are making new record highs.
- The S&P is up 6.43 points or 0.21% at 2902.74. It is trading right at the highs
- The Nasdaq is up 22.23 points or 0.28% at 8041.99. That is near the highest high as well
- The Dow is up 60 points or 0.22%
A look at the US debt market today has yields moving higher for the 2nd straight day. The 2-10 spread is also up as well and moves to about 22 bps as the yield curve steepens.
A snapshot of other markets is showing:
- Spot gold up $1.62 at $1213.
- WTI crude oiil is little changed with the lead contract down -$0.04
- Bitcoin is running higher up $345 on the day and above $7000 at $7062 on Coinbase.
The USD remains the weakest. The CHF remains the strongest currency on the day.
