Nasdaq leads the way

- S&P index rose 8.34 points or 0.31% at 2726.71. The low reached 2698.95. The high reached 2727.26. The index closed near the highs
- The NASDAQ rose 57.384 points or 0.76% at 7567.68. The close was just below the high at 7568.10. The low reached 7443.10
- The Dow eked out a 35.77 point gain or 0.15% at 24307.18. The high reached 24319.42. The low extended to 24077.56.
7 of 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in positive territory. Technology stocks rose 1% and was the top performing industry group of the day.
