US sells 30-year bonds at 2.470% vs 2.475% WI

Results of the $12 billion sale of US 30-year bonds

  • Prior sale was at 2.475%
  • Bid to cover 2.440 (highest since July)
  • Prior bid to cover was 2.130

Demand a bit stronger than the market was expecting. There's a bid for safety at these levels that's tough to shake.

I thought we might see some risk appetite after the sale and USD/JPY but with the lower yield, that's less likely.
