US Oct construction spending +0.8% vs +0.4% expected

• In Sept, construction spending declined 0.3%
• Private spending -0.5%
• Public spending +3.9% (largest rise since March 2004)

This report is secondary to the ISM data but it’s much weaker than the headline suggests.
