Speaking on NAFTA negotiations
US trade representative Lighthizer is on the wires saying:
- His hope is that before very long US will have a NAFTA deal with Mexico
- Canada deal to follow
- Aiming to have conclusion to trade deal with Mexico sometime in August
Switching gears, Lighthizer adds:
- US supports Post_Brexit free-trade deal with the UK
He adds:
- expects an agreement on steel and aluminum with Canada as part of wider NAFTA deal
- US expects to solve European steel, aluminum tabs as part of trade talks with the EU
- trade issues with China will take years to resolve
The USDMXN is trading at the lowest level since April 30 and looks to test the April 27 swing low at 18.5870 (see chart below).
