The US Empire State manufacturing index for March came in weaker than expected a 3.7 versus 10.0 estimate. That was down from 8.8 last month. The indexes the lowest since November 2016.

- delivery time 1.4 versus 5.0
The six-month a head index also fell to 29.6 versus 32.3 last month. However, note the 32.3 is a higher level.
