Aug, showing contraction and below expectations. 5 of 7 sub-indices
contracted, led by new orders -7.4 to 47.4, production -2.0 to 55.4,
employment -5.1 to 52.0. Supplier Deliveries was the exception at +2.2
to 52.1. Prices paid +6.2 to 63.2, in 3rd gain. Lead time for ordering
Capital Equipt fell 11.4 days to 109.9, its lowest since April 2011. The
most recent weakening “further extends and deepens the MNI Chicago
Report’s general trend since late spring of an economy ratcheting down
in monthly increments,” the text said.
