US DATA: Repeating last night’s NFIB jobs…………

US DATA: Repeating last night’s NFIB jobs statement: “Job creation in November
was essentially zero; the average change in employment per firm fell to -0.04
from 0.02 workers in October. Overall, little change from October numbers,
though leaning in a negative direction. Oddly enough, this month’s reading is
still one of the best in the second half of the year which speaks to the paucity
of new job creation. Hurricane Sandy’s impact on the jobs numbers is
substantial. Although large national firms will not experience much of an
employment impact, thousands of small firms along the East Coast were forced to
close, large numbers have not re-opened and many consumers in affected areas
can’t shop.”
