US DATA REACT: BNP says Feb Michigan consumer sentiment at 73.6 “paints
a much more optimistic picture than the Conference Board index” and
1-yr inflation expectations at 2.7% is modest. HSBC says “existing home
sales data added to the lengthening list of negative housing-related
news” and prior gains came on tax credits. One impediment is “Comments
from realtors suggest a wide disparity between buyer and sellers,
with unrealistic price expectations from both sides.”
