US DATA: Oct factory new orders -0.4%, below the -0.2% expected as
nondur orders were -0.3% on a 0.8% retracement in petroleum and coal
products and dur orders were revised up to -0.5% (prev -0.7%). Total fac
orders ex. transport +0.2% on mixed components, transport orders now
-5.1% (prev -4.8%). Factory shipments +0.6% with nondefense capital
goods shipments +1.1%, but -0.1% ex. aircraft. Factory inventories
+0.9%, unfilled orders +0.2%. Inv-to-shipments ratio unch 1.33 in Oct.
