US DATA: MNI has unveiled its latest data forecast competition and invites
readers to test their skills and compete for the title of Best Overall
Forecaster, as well as big cash prizes totaling $41,500. Forecasters will enter
their projections for six major U.S. data releases: non-farm payrolls, retail
sales, PPI, housing starts, ISM manufacturing index, and Chicago PMI in MNI’s
Chicago Report. Each individual forecast will be scored daily for accuracy,
precision and timeliness. Forecasts for each data point can be entered once
daily, and daily forecasts can be modified at any time before the release. But
being right is not enough: each daily forecast must also be right before other
forecasters.
The competition runs from Dec. 10 to April 5. To participate in the MNI Forecast
