US DATA: January TICS data showed that foreign residents gobbled up
long-term US securities to the tune of $94.7 bn at the same time that US
residents reduced holdings of foreign assets by $6.3bn for a net inflow
of $101.0 bn in the month. Within the flows, private investors bought
$60.8 bn of US securities while foreign officials bought $34.0 bn.
After adjustments, overall net foreign acquisition of long-term
securities is estimated at $84.4 bn in Jan, Tsy says.
Net TIC inflows $18.8 bn.
