US DATA: Dec IBD/TIPP Economic Optimism Index fell sharply, -3.5 pts or -7.2%,
to 45.1. All components, led by -8.8% on 6-mo econ outlook, and 20 of 21
demographic groups fell. IBD says “The uncertainties of the fiscal cliff, gas
prices and high unemployment are not helping confidence.”
