"Washington would suspend further tariffs through the spring in exchange for new talks looking at big changes in Chinese economic policy," the report says, citing both sides.
The story says "it is far from clear" whether the deal will produce an agreement.
I think the White House can sniff out what's going on here. China is trying to run out the clock on Trump with two years left in his administration. The thing is, Trump probably knows what they're trying to do.
At the same time, I think Trump knows what's at stake for financial markets. Maybe there is a middle ground?
