UK's Hammond says there will be no emergency budget

New UK finance minister speaking on Sky tv. Wires reporting 14 July 2016

  • Autumn Budget to take place as usual
  • would not take 6 years to negotiate a Brexit deal
  • getting small print and rubber-stamping through EU parliament could take a while

Yep, especially after Nigel Farage's sticking two fingers up and saying and ridiculing them when he addressed them last week.

  • markets do need signals of reassurance to know that we will do whatever is necessary
  • confidence will gradually return and people will see shape of future we are mapping out
  • declines to say whether he continue with plans to cut corp tax
  • says Carney doing an excellent job as BOE gov

I wonder what conversation Hammond has had with Carney already re MPC decision today...
