That pretty much sets the tone ahead of May's meeting with Cabinet ministers later today. It's all about the backstop and whether or not they can come to an agreement to settle on a mechanism to leave the EU's customs union. A time-limited one proposal will surely get shot down by European officials so they need to find another workaround for the time being unless concessions are made.
