UK trade secretary Liam Fox with more comments

Fox says that currently UK steel goes to US defense projects, so for the US to apply tariffs on the UK on the basis of national security would be 'quite absurd'.
He also says that he has met up with EU trade commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom yesterday, and that the UK and EU are working together to try and get a permanent exemption from US tariffs. Adding that they will also look at any joint action including 'safeguarding measures' if the tariffs distort the steel trade.
Well, consulting with the EU probably isn't the brightest of ideas when the EU themselves have no idea who to speak with on US tariffs.
Tough luck, Mr. Fox.
