Looks like May isn't budging
- Wants the EU to negotiate on Brexit with 'energy and imagination'
- Believes that Chequers proposal can carry the support of the House of Commons
EU's chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier has commented over the weekend saying that he "strongly opposes" those proposals. So, we're back to the drawing board again, eh?
As I said before, both sides can talk up good chances of a deal but when push comes to shove and a solution needs to be presented (particularly for the Irish border), I'm yet to see any real signs of progress on that.
At the end of the day, a deal may work out itself before the actual deadline. But until then, there is no good reason to believe that one will come so there's no point to gamble on that now. Trade what is in front of you instead.
