UK Parliament defers decision on Brexit petition

Comments from the UK Parliamentary panel

  • Any debate could not trigger a second referendum

This is a statement from the petitions committee who are legally obliged to look at any petitions that gain over 100k in signatures.

The petition in question was one that said the referendum should be re-run if the winning side got less than 60% based on a turnout of less than 75%. I've just had a look and it's up to 3.9m. The petition is hugely open to manipulation and should get the reaction it deserves, i.e tossed in the bin.
