This is the exit poll - its not an official count, so treat it with some care
At the 2015 election the exit poll did indicate a Conservative win, but not the extent of the margin.
Exit poll, number of seats:
Conservatives: 314 (a majority but that result would be down 14 from when the PM called the election)
Labour: 266
SNP: 34
Lib Dem: 14
UKIP: 0
If the exit poll is accurate it would indicate most likely a hung parliament - GBP lower
The key takeaway though is this is inconclusive ... this going to be long night for the UK.
more to come
-
The exit poll is conducted jointly by all UK media under the supervision of John Curtice of Strathclyde University.
Note - again, this is not anything official, its an exit poll only

- First seat will declare at 2200GMT
- While only one of 650 seats we'll be watching to see how Labour fare (they will win the seat, it's a safe Labour constituency). UKIP polled well in the seat in 2015, if they don't do so well this time we'll get an idea of which way they are breaking - for the Conservatives or Labour.
Its all hands on deck at ForexLive for the election, we'll have everything as it hits.
