UK car output falls again in September

British car production fell 4.1 percent in September y/y

Says Reuters:

  • adds to signs of faltering consumer and business confidence
  • Exports, accounting for 80 percent of total output, fell 1.1 percent
  • Domestic demand down 14.2 percent
  • "It's clear that declining consumer and business confidence is affecting domestic demand and hence production volumes," SMMT Chief Executive Mike Hawes said.
