The readings here are an indicator of short-term trends in the retail and wholesale sector of the UK economy. An unexpected jump in retail balance there and that should be a good indication of sentiment when looking ahead to Q3 data that is to come. Low-tier data that won't do much for the pound though, but it is one that sets up expectations for releases to come.
