Two kinds of month-ends

  1. The kind where markets essentially shift into neutral and wait for the clock to tick over to a new month
  2. The kind where someone waits for the last minute to square up and the market moves due to low liquidity and little speculative demand. Why does speculative demand dry up at month-end? By this point, you’ve either made or lost your month. Few want to risk what they’ve made or make losses worse at the last minute…

Let’s hope today is type 1.
