Turning point for the US consumer?

After all the talk about a cold winter, retail sales grew 1.2% in March. This month there are no excuses and sales are up only a modest 0.4%.

Easter was late this year which may have pushed sales into April.

Watch the control group, which excludes autos, gas and building materials. It’s expected to rise 0.5%.
