Trump says that the US delegation will be "trying to negotiate a level playing field"
By that he surely means the issue with the US trade deficit to China. That won't be the only nagging issue in trade talks between the two sides over the next two days.
There are also issues surrounding technology/intellectual property, China's openness towards investment, steel overcapacity, and even that of currency manipulation. Bloomberg has more on that here.
