US President Trump's comments on China were lost somewhat in the Mexico / Nafta announcements earlier on
But on China:
- "They want to talk," Trump said, speaking of Chinese officials. "It's just not the right time to talk right now, to be honest with China."
- "It's too one-sided for too many years and too many decades, and so it's not the right time to talk"
- "But eventually I'm sure that we'll be able to work out a deal with China."
The remarks are reported via the South China Morning Post but given the coolness evident last week on the China / US trade talks they are not surprising.
I can't see how they are much of a positive for AUD.
