According to a report by Axios
The report says that Trump has told top White House officials that he wants to withdraw the US from the WTO and that he is unmoved by arguments that the US has done well in the past with the WTO. The full report can be found here.
That's a bit of a hit to the positive risk sentiment in the market. US equity futures are paring gains now and USD/JPY has fallen to 110.50 on the back of that.
If the US does pull the plug on ties with the WTO, global trade is going to be sent into a big pile of mess - not that the tariffs and all haven't done that already. But I doubt that they would go to this extent, if anything this feels like the usual Trump threat again. It would be unimaginable and extreme to see the US go down this road.
