Considering his optimism ahead of the meeting with Kim, I believe he would want to portray a tone in which he made a remarkable breakthrough in talks between the two nations. That will be a good story for headlines, but it's not going to do anything for markets.
Until there is actual and solid commitments for North Korea to denuclearise - and that those plans are communicated to markets, then lift in risk sentiment here will be short-lived.
