Canada worried about more tariffs
The nightmare scenario in NAFTA negotiations for Canada is that they sign a deal then Trump immediately turns around and imposes 'national security' tariffs against the auto industry.
Canadian negotiators have been angling for assurances that it won't happen. I'm not sure they're just going to accept Trump at his word.
Trudeau went further and said steel and aluminum tariffs will need to be scrapped before Canada feels confident about a new NAFTA deal.
Update: USD/CAD is rising after Trudeau added that it's possible that all NAFTA nations will not agree to a trilateral deal.
