Troika Says Left Athens To Allow Completion Of Technical Work

Paris (MNI)- Greece’s negotiations with international inspectors
for disbursement of a new tranche of official aid were suspended Friday
and will resume in mid-September, according to a statement from the
so-called troika, which is composed of the European Central Bank, the
International Monetary Fund and the European Commission.

“The mission has made good progress, but has temporarily left
Athens to allow the authorities to complete technical work, among other
things, related to the 2012 budget and growth-enhancing structural
reforms,” the statement said.

The troika said its inspectors will return to Athens by
mid-September, “when we expect the Greek authorities to have completed
the technical work, to continue discussions on policies needed to
complete the review.”
