Trading is like football, sometimes a draw is as good as a win

I'm out my AUDUSD longs with 2 pips profit. The Milky bars are on me :-)

There's a saying in football that sometimes a draw is as good as a win, and the same can be applied in trading. Before a game (trade) starts you want to win, obviously but if you find that during the game, you're losing 3-0 (your trade is offside), the least you want to do is not lose.

And so with AUDUSD failing to do what I wanted it to, and judging the subsequent price action up at 0.7525, I got out of my trade on that failure just now for two pips profit.

Why 2 pips profit? I would have been happy for break even (my average was 0.7518) but you know, for me, just grabbing a pip from the market is a huge psychological win, 2 was just lucky :-D

In my floor days, one of the best feelings of accomplishment was when I had a bad trade right from the open and spent all day working my cods off clawing it back to at least break even. If my only loss on days like that was the commission, I was a happy bunny.
