Daily thread to exchange ideas and to share your thoughts
Good day, everyone! Hope you're all doing well as we get things going here in European trading today. It's a bit of an opposite day to what we had at the start of the trading yesterday as the dollar and yen are weaker as we kick things off.
Some market themes to ponder upon:
- Asian equities a little sluggish, but off their lows
- US equity futures holding up well, bond yields higher
- Commodities (metals in particular) are recovering well after yesterday's decline
- Emerging market currencies are doing fine on the day, Chinese yuan as well
- Turkish lira back under 6.00 trading near session lows
I see this as a good opportunity to look for a continuation trade in the market theme that we've been seeing over the past week or so. But let's see if the retracement here has room to run further. I'm one to never pick bottoms so it's fair game right now as money can be earned on both sides of the trading spectrum. What are your views on the market right now?
