Trade ideas thread - European session 12 March 2019

Daily thread to exchange ideas and to share your thoughts

Good day, everyone! Hope you're all doing well as we get things going here on the session. The pound remains the leader of the major currencies bloc as Brexit deal optimism continues to keep the quid underpinned as we begin the European morning.

The yen is generally weaker as risk sentiment remains in a buoyant mood following gains in Wall Street overnight. This story on China's exports rebound is also doing the rounds and that won't hurt the general risk tones seen so far today.

Meanwhile, the greenback is rather mixed but holds a little lower as the euro is also gaining some ground on the day; though not by much.

Looking ahead, it is likely to be a session dominated by Brexit headlines/rumours so just be mindful of that in your pound positions. The secondary theme of a more positive risk tone should continue into North American trading and we'll then see how Wall Street performs in light of a rebound yesterday following a poor showing last week.
