I came across an article this am on the Bloomberg's markets live blog from Garfield Reynolds titles, 'There's a good chance trade optimism won't pan out'.
He reports on Donald Trump's use of the phrase there's a 'good chance'. Garfield reported to have found a good half dozen times, since April 2018, the phrase about a a good chance of a Us-China deal working out.
We know this to be true as the trade has been to fade Trump's positive US-China rhetoric consistently. However, one time the deal will be done. Just keep going with the latest short term sentiment shift. Risk on: sell JPY. Risk off: Buy JPY. Rinse and repeat going for those temporary spikes. Makes it much easier than trying to read the future. Be hopetimistic: and go with both plays at the right time.
