It looks like Mike, Ryan, and Adam led you all through quite a bit of fun over the last two sessions. Here’s what we’ve got coming up this session.
*6:00 PM – Chilean interest rate decision – no change is expected. The rate currently sits at 4.0%
6:00 PM – Janet Yellen speaks to the US Chamber of Commerce and Small Business Administration
10:00 PM – Chinese FDI
And that’s that. Yellen’s words will be closely watched especially after the market got knocked a percent or so from the highs. For those looking for this to jump start some volatility tonight, I hope you are right but I’m skeptical. We might get twenty minutes of volatility or so but something His Forex-ness, Adam, said earlier rings true: Yellen has been so cautious with her words that she’s bordering on boring. Today’s equity market was very ugly but finished the day just ugly. I don’t think anything that’s happened today will shake Yellen off the line she’s been walking.
UPDATE: Yellen speaks from 6-7:30. My previous informant has been shot. Sorry if that threw anyone off.
