Give back a lot of the gains for the day
The major US stock indices are ending the session higher. However, they also backed off from afternoon highs into the end of day close.
- S&P index rose 5.99 points or 0.22% at 2723. The high extended to 2732.91. The low was down at 2715.60
- Nasdaq rose by 29.62 points or 0.39% at 7561.62. The high reached 7597.49. The low fell to 7927 earlier in the day.
- The Dow closed higher by 30.31 points or 0.12% at 24283.11. The high reached 24384.21. The low extended to 24241.22.
Although higher, it is a disappointment that most of the gains were eroded by the close.
