The official explanation is that Mikhail Lesin died of injuries after drinking
The real question is why is the Justice Department covering up the assassination of Mikhail Lesin.
The official explanation of accidental death is laughable:
He entered his hotel room for the final time at 10:48 am and "after days of excessive consumption of alcohol" he sustained the injuries that resulted in his death "while alone in his hotel room"
The Justice Dept at the same time changed the cause of death to "accident" from "undetermined"
"The Chief Medical Examiner has determined that Lesin died as a result of blunt force injuries to his head, with contributing causes being blunt force injuries of the neck, torso, upper extremities and lower extremities, which were induced by falls," the official release said.
Buzzfeed has been investigating the case for two years. Lesin was the founder of RT News and ran later ran Gazprom Media before resigning at the end of 2014. He was once a close confidant of Putin before he fell out of favor and went into hiding.
According to the report, he was slated to meet with the Justice Dept the next day. The true cause of death is that he was beaten with a baseball bat.
"Altogether, 18 current and former intelligence, law enforcement, and other federal officials told BuzzFeed News that they question the official story of how Lesin died," according to Buzzfeed, who has sued for investigative records on the death.
If he was assassinated by Russian agents, that wouldn't be a surprise but why would the Justice Dept cover it up? As part of the investigation Buzzfeed has looked at other deaths in the UK that follow a similar pattern that have also been glossed over by investigators, including non-Russian nationals.
