The JOLT job openings reaches another record at 7581. CORRECTION. Some data was revised so not a record (but not far off)
- Hires 5801 vs 5717 last month, +84
- Separations 5550 vs 5469 last month. +81
- Quit rate unchanged at 2.3%. 3490 vs 3391 last month, +99
- Layoffs and discharges rate came in at 1.1%. 1723 vs 1751 last month, -38
Although the job openings are not a record as first thought (there seems to have revised 2018 data and November is the high), the openings remain elevated indicative of a strong labor market.
