The outcome of the election tonight will not be certified until December 26 at the earliest
(According to a State official comment last week).
- Right now the Republicans are 52-48 in the Senate
- After this result they'll be 51-49 ... but Jones won't take his position until after the result is certified
Which makes it likely pressures will intensify to pass tax legiaslation before then
