Stock market decline extends as geopolitical fear mounts

S&P 500 down 0.7%

The Nasdaq is down 1.0% and the S&P 500 lower by 15 points to 2071 after Turkey shot down a Russian jet.

As usual, the fears are overblown. Russia will retaliate economically against Turkey in time but we're not headed towards nuclear war but the old cold war fears are easy to drum up.

Ultimately, it will be a crude selling opportunity and a stock market buying opportunity. As always, it's a question of when. I think the time to sell oil is close.
