Ciobo will not be contesting at the election
That's another blow to prime minister, Scott Morrison (aka ScoMo), ahead of the elections in May. Ciobo joins Kelly O'Dwyer, Michael Keenan, and Nigel Scullion in the list of those who have called an end to their time just before the elections.
Defence minister, Christopher Pyne, is another that is reportedly expected to announce his resignation as well. While politics aren't exactly something that is impacting the Australian dollar at the moment, the game of musical chairs on the prime minister's seat and the government is something that will have near-term implications on the currency as we gear towards the elections in May.
