The Dec 31 close was 2058.90.
The S&P index is down about 30 points at 2053. The close for 2014 was at 2058.90. So the index is now negative on the year.
In July, the price also broke below the year end closing level and bottomed at 2044.02 before rebounding. The low in March came in at 2041. 10. The low for the year came on February 2 at 1980.90. The 50% of the move up from the Oct low comes in at 1977.69. Each are potential targets fi the price is not able to recover. PS. the price is also breaking and moving away from the 200 day MA at the 2075.26 level. In July, the price fell below this key MA but could not sustain much downside momentum.
Meanwhile, over in Germany, the Dax Index is also under pressure and it is testing its 200 day MA at the 10901.08 level. The price has not closed below this MA since back in January.
