The US major stock indices are ending the day higher but off the peaks
- S&P index is closing up 0.34% at 2137.09. This surpasses the previous high close at 2130.80.
- The NASDAQ composite index is closing up at 0.64% at 4988.64. The index moved above the 5000 level to a high price of 5002.50, but it could not sustain the momentum
- The Dow industrial averages and in the day +0.44%,
Crude oil is ending the day at $44.76 down 1.4%.
Gold is trading at 1356.3, down about $11

- 5-year note yield is at 1.0247%, +8 basis points
