S&P and Dow close at record closing levels....(once again)

Nasdaq is such a dog (not really but....)

It was a quiet day, in the stocks but the major indices are still swimming in the afterglow of what was a pretty good earnings season.

  • The Dow is the most narrow index (30 stocks) and it has its measuring problems (Boeing carried it for about a week. Apple is helping it today). Nevertheless it is still up for the 10 consecutive day and the 9th consecutive record close. The index is ending up 25.61 points or +0.12%
  • The S&P (500 stocks) is much bigger and it too had a record close today. It is ending the session up 4.08 points or 0.16% to 2480.91.
  • The Nasdaq is the strongest index today, rising by 32.209 points or 0.51% at 6383.773, but is still off it's record high close at 6422.747. What a dog ; ) .

And to think that Trump is just starting his 17 day "working holiday". Heck....there may not be any Washington news to take the stocks lower?
